The Nazar's Eye, often known as the Evil Eye Amulet or Nazar Boncuğu (Turkish), is a widespread protective talisman. Typically a round or teardrop-shaped piece of blue glass featuring concentric circles (dark blue, light blue, white, and a central black dot) that resemble an eye. It is believed to ward off the "evil eye" (a curse of envy or ill-will) by staring back at the malevolent gaze and reflecting the negative energy back to its source. The deep blue color is traditionally associated with protection, truth, and divinity. If the amulet breaks or cracks, it is thought to have successfully absorbed a powerful negative curse on the wearer's behalf.
